The work acknowledges the traditional owners of the land, tWurundjeri Woi Wurrung peoples of the Eastern Kulin Nation where this work was created and I reside. I acknowledge I am a visitor to these lands which are stolen and continue to be pillaged by colonialism. I pay my respect to Elders past, present and emerging. I actively use my position of privilege to work as an ally for a future where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people's land, culture, traditions and language is restored.
A work in progress, this experimental media, takes still images and recodes them using methods found in a kaleidoscope. Stills depicting the repetitious design of nature are distorted to subvert human's habitual need to order and categorise their environment. The viewer is immersed in an evolving world that replicates cycles consistent with the natural world, encouraging them to question their place in a changing climate.
